I've spent the first half of this year writing
two books. KISS & TELL is coming in
November 2008 from Harlequin Blaze. The second is an untitled story from
Kensington Brava that will be released late in 2009 or in 2010. My next
Brava, MAXIMUM
EXPOSURE,
is a December 2008 release. There are two more Blazes and two more Bravas
in the pipeline. The first Blaze, LONG HARD RIDE, will be out in March
2009 and will launch Blaze's 0 - 60 miniseries celebrating Harlequin's
sixtieth anniversary. I'm sharing the miniseries with the fabulous Julie
Miller and Jennife LaBrecque. The next Blaze will be out in July 2009
and is part of a miniseries featuring Texas Rangers. For those of you
who've wondered about SG-5 operative Simon Baptiste's story, it's tentatively
scheduled for May 2009. I have one more Brava in house to follow. I'm
also working on a new contemporary romance series (one with a touch of
adventure). Though I've quit doing regular monthly contests, I host a
giveaway every weekend on my
blog, and will be doing three special blog
giveaways each month this summer. If you're out and about on the web,
check out the Readers Gab blog at Access
Romance for some amazing posts
on the romance genre from the perspective of eight different readers.

Updating my website has, unfortunately, fallen by the wayside as I've
been busy writing my fingers to the bone. Most of that work won't be
hitting the shelves for awhile, but there will be many things coming
your way - at least two books from Blaze in 2008, with the possibility
of one from Brava. I've added what information I have to the bookshelf.
That said, I do try to blog several times a week, so anytime you're looking
for the latest, it'll be available there. For November and December,
I'm doing an Amazon gift card giveaway so that at the end of the year,
one lucky winner will have a treat to look forward to to start the new
year! Five runner-up winners will get copies of my next Blaze, TEX
APPEAL. These days I'm also involved in the 70
Days of Sweat Writing Challenge. Check out the inspirational posts
and the progress of the participants each Sunday & Wednesday. 11-01-07

Today as I write it's March 25th, and already BN.com is shipping THE
PERFECT STRANGER. It's been sighted on store shelves, too. THE
PERFECT STRANGER was inspired by my reading of Theresa Weir's AMAZON
LILY over ten years ago (see
the original AL cover here), but only now, with my Smithson
Group series, did I find an editor ready to put it into print.
A book's success often depends as much on the market as it can
on an author's talent and promotional push. (Speaking of promotional
push,
check out the great book video author Kelly
St. John made for me - and the one
I made for my SG-5 guys!) Thankfully, adventure romances have
finally come into their own. Below you'll find a link to my April
contest,
and on my
blog I plan to run several giveaways throughout the month to
celebrate the book's release. If you don't already stop by regularly,
now you
have a reason to do so! Another good reason -- I'm hosting a series
of posts by guest bloggers throughout the month of April. I've had
in Megan Hart, Caridad
Ferrer, Carly
Phillips, Deborah
Smith, and more - and have several others scheduled! I'm also
now reviewing books for Paperback
Reader so stop by there to see what romances I've been reading
(other books I've read are listed on my blog sidebar)! 04-01-07

Happy New Year! 2007 for me is going to be
all about nurturing my artistic side. I posted on my blog recently, here and here,
about the things I plan to indulge in - all of which help me connect
with that place where stories come from. I know it sounds crazy, but
it's true! Check out this
speech by author Barbara Samuel and the list of characteristics common
to creative children. I can claim ownership to more than a few of those
traits even now! Today I'm starting in on writing my next Brava, Simon
Baptiste's story. I've been doing a
lot of prep work, figuring out exactly who he and his heroine, Michelina
Ferrer are. After
listening to dozens of audio clips to find the perfect music to inspire
me, I settled on three CD's: Creole
Bred: A Tribute to Creole & Zydeco, Evangeline
Made: A Tribute to Cajun Music, and Adieu
False Heart which features Linda Rondstadt, who I haven't listened
to in ages. Now to put Simon and Micky in hot water and make them sweat!
